Annick Goutal started out as a model and pianist. Yet she had a tumultuous life before becoming a famed perfumer. After separating from her child's father and battling breast cancer, she found love again both personally and professionally. She got married to her longtime love and started a skin cream company with one of her friends. In 1977, she began working with nose Henri Sorsana and soon realized that the techniques she learned as a musician could be applied to perfuming. Many of her fragrances are inspired by her loved ones or places she has visited throughout her lifetime. Some of the biggest stars in the world have enjoyed her creations, including Prince and Madonna.
